breaking away

It's not about a human designation.
It's about the effects and after math of hate.

The "race" I identify by is human,
though I can't say I'm proud of it.

In my experience, most people are not
interested in "race"
and interact based in a context of
respect and how they are treated.

Breaking away from the herd analogy
the herd mentality
the herd duality

the herd anxiety

seeking sanity

In our democratic republic,
if we don't like our government
we can change it
However, that requires solidarity,
while what we mostly have
is divisiveness

Haters to the left of me
Haters to the right of me
Politics has become a hater's game
Weaponizing shame and blame
Keeping us all enslaved to
emotional memes
Everyone feels afraid
Nobody gets what we need
for healthful well-being

What if we all could make the change
Move out of hate, into sanity?
Sane to the left of me
Sane to the right of me
All able to acquire our fair share
of fulfilling desires, in peace
Free to each have our say

Profound ordinary moments
call to me as feeling laden scenes
immediate, sensory
How I have become,
relayed images
like this:

memorialize free fright

There is no free market,
not because of government regulations (which often improve
the market conditions by increasing consumer confidence and labor
inducement), but because of crony government supporting some
businesses to the detriment of fair competition, the essence of
the good, the benefits, claimed for free enterprise capitalism.

"Images like these"
What images do I see,
in dreams?
in Rorschach-like response
to that phrase?

The future depends on what we choose
but too many of us choose to leave our fate
to our lowest common appetites.

Americans' incredible laziness --
the dangerous stupidity of willful ignorance
as bliss because it excuses
lack of perceived responsibility.

so all you people who are SO upset over Joe Biden's sins (of which he has many, but then so do most) are going to keep Trump in power to destroy us all rather than voting him out for a President much more easily handled by public opinion and a better Congress (which we do need to vote in)

it occurs to me that people who clamor for Freedom! from government tyrannies like this do not understand that freedom is not just flailing your arms or screaming out whatever crosses your mind. Real freedom is hard, it demands respect and responsibility – much more work than these lazy Americans could muster.

politics and money

don't see it as D v. R -- it's not about them: it's about us and what we would suffer from another round of Trump/McConnell -- vote them out, then deal with what's left

of course if Capitalism were the marvel of human ingenuity it is purported to be the markets would be quickly adapting to the conditions and new businesses and ways of doing business would keep everyone employed safely

the Trumpettes are so in awe of their belief in the superiority of the elite left that they applaud and empower this senile media whore because he so upsets the “libtards” who they know disrespect them

“money” is a social construct (and contract) – it can be whatever WE (writ large) say it is. The problem is people become accustomed to what has already been constructed and tend to believe that is the way it must be. Also, we are damned lazy and would rather keep the evil we know then contend with a good we don’t.

May Ides

You would be revolutionaries
complaining at every forum of the evils
of government -- your true adversary
is not "the State" but the people who
support and create it.
You are mere malcontents -- not the
People's heroes.
True heroes don't waste their resources
tearing down.
They take the responsibility to work
usefully to improve life possibilities.
Peruse your skill set --
What can you do?

True leaders strive, not to highlight what is wrong, but to overwrite
with sensible solutions.

Their clamor for opening often comes from
suffering an underlying mindset, conscious or not,
of "survival of the fittest" -- that those who fall
to disease thus cull the herd and make us stronger.

I am simply someone following a fascination.

Where is that vibrant energy I counted on
to blare out what I must say with focused
grace, layered like festival cake
in ritual and potent spice?

Of course the men who casually abuse women they have power over don't get the uproar.
For her it was a life changing trauma; for him nothing of note.

Throwing myself over the edge -- lucky enough
to land on my feet
without breaking my legs.

The world has become stale -- everyone worn
down and out.

A multi-layered mess
We did it to ourselves
out of greed and other
kinds of stupidity.

You think you are defending your tribe
by attacking folks with articulable differences?
No!
You are the lesser, the bad
people -- you destroy the reputation,
the good name, of our society, our nation,
our human race.

mother love

Created from the Milky Way shining into Mother Moon,
reflections from that ancient light emerging from her womb.

Bonded to Earth's creation;
learning at mother's breast
to embrace Her gifts and lessons.

The dance takes me up
In motherly embrace,
Holds me softly,
Listens closely,
Lifts out all my sorrow,
Lets me fly.

If mothers are invisible it's because we make ourselves so. Women do get so caught up in the servant role, taking care, in the background, making sure everything is as it should be for everyone around. This is keeping ourselves invisible. If we want a say, we need to speak up. If we want our kids to see us as real, individual, human beings -- not just "Mom" -- we have to relate to them on that level, honestly, passionately, telling them who we are and listening to their revelations about themselves, and helping them to bridge the gap of experience. No. The job of mother is not to be the silent servant, the self-sacrificed. The job of mother is to teach our children to be their most, their best, their brightest in the way that kids learn best, by modeling that philosophy.

In a perfect world the rights of mother and child would be balanced, each respected, valued and cherished by society which requires them for its very existence.

Mother and Child Meditation

Visualize the bond between Mother and Child.
Do you imagine it broken by
internal jealousies, shyness against intimacy,
cringing before angry gods of tribal culture,
dying of a thousand casual wounds, volleys
of will and grievance cast into fragile frays?
Or do you see a pageantry of unfailing matriarchs.
Strong sons and daughters waltz in attendance.
Flowers bloom from every slip of finery into
fertile mud.
Mothers of our species tend toward
adaptability, bear challenge of balance.
Trying out touted trends, begging for guidance
when their own experience ill fits today's
terror and tantalization.  Always someone must
be blamed; sentiments must be appeased.
Where is the ease, the joy, the sharing up and down,
familial care and comfort?  Where is that not our fair
Command?
A child is a gift to the future; a mother is a gift
of nature and nurture.  Each brings, receives
all imaginable possibilities.  Each is a present day.

Mother Courage

I give my wandering children
Anger to protect you from pain
Rage to ameliorate agony
Fear of what folks won’t explain
Fraught laughter to counteract tragedy
Music to move you to heal
Theater to unite what we feel
that vague sense that nothing is real ...
Lost at an indistinct edge made of snow
Unsure where we’ve come from, with nowhere to go
Beggars and bullies and braggarts and whores
iron chains on our windows in rooms with no doors
Fire roams freely, unleashed by cruel wars,
feeds forever on days we will never see,
worlds we will never be
given

Mother Says

Enjoy the Sun
Enjoy the rain
Enjoy the love
Enjoy the pain
Enjoy the fear
Enjoy the rage

Listen intimately
to your broken heart.
Feel its words; inhale its art.

Dance, sing, self-embrace
and swing.
Enjoy surprise, the changing tides,
this space in time while you’re alive.

May I

It's not the lesser evil
It's the greater sanity.

She shrieks with joy
counterpoint to crying pain.

painstaking increments
w/ occasional serendipitous leaps

Living simply that I may
devote my time and attention
to my true vocation.

That a project is financed by "the government" rather than private industry
does not make it less efficient or beneficial.
Whether public or private, the important ingredient is management.
Private management is often awful -- see all the failed businesses and bankruptcies.
Private business, too, is focused on profit maximization, while public enterprise
when focused on its goal is about providing the greatest service to the people.

Who are we without our stories
to ground us,
give us our always home?
How I related, react, present, now
unabashed, unashamed, no chains.

Everywhere people catastrophize
problems, cry out about everything going wrong.
I'd rather focus on solutions, how we might
turn the tide, find shelter in the storm.
A bunch of lazy, anti-social, self-entitled complainers.
Make America Honorable Again
(even if we never were before)
Make us take courage and responsibility
to be honorably the land of the free
who use our liberty to create ever

greater good lives of good will.

some recent responses on social media

It is now so clearly demarcated -- people who find their creativity and adaptability to re-source and uplift while others complain, incite bad behaviors, blame and scapegoat and create unnecessary havoc

US democracy sucks -- but just look at what we have to work with in regard to our electorate
it's not voting for the lesser evil when we have a plan and the ability to counter and ameliorate that evil, even throw it the hell out, once we have gotten rid of the evil worshiping current administration
Why waste our raging energy and time ranting against sensibility when we could be using those resources to make better plans for future governance, express and expand on them, and get more and more people involved in solution building instead of hateful blaming dualities.

kind of a test for capitalism -- if the market-based economy actually works, people will adapt to the new environment and find ways to make a living; and we do hear about the need for all kinds of essential workers to take the places of those who are sick, dead, or in dread of becoming so -- these protesters are of course voicing real frustrations, but also a wrongheaded  stance in regard to the exigency of reality

we don’t have to like Biden or trust him
we have to vote Trump out decisively, and then deal with Biden which we can do much more effectively than with Trump due to the GOP obstruction of justice
but most importantly we need to elect a Democratic Senate and end Moscow Mitch’s reign

the thing with the market, it goes up/it goes down/it goes up/it goes down and so forth
the market reassesses and comes back
dead humans don't

April released

shining crescent door
invites my mind to dreaming
longed for peace of night

4/28/20

Those old movie musicals, plots
to support the song and dance --
kind of like porn, but musical performance
instead of more direct sex.

People of loving spirit to let me feel
safe
cosseted.
So many seem to need hate,
to gather in racist joining,
keeping folk designated in their place.
Terror permeates this human world.
Why such perverted pleasure
gets elevated as who we choose
to be makes no sense to me.
And you?
Tell me true.
Why deny healing,
best of us awaking,
embracing touch called kindness,
so much preferable a base on which
to grow a human race.
Isn't it our time to realign,
to be kind?

May I find the Wisdom
to accept what I can't change,
change what I can't accept,
get over my damn self
because I am more than my memories,
lost in eternity, but not forever.
I am unwinding from silken binds
so soft it's taken all this time
to feel their pull.
Sublimely full of wretching
bullshit, ready to relinquish
expectations, admit they always
fail.  Sever ties to tribulations,
succor of revelations,
just nourish from what comes,
unfetter adaptation.

Every time there is an emergency
people get together.
See pretty stories of neighborly
community, sacrifice for family,
but also strangers because we're all
in this and know we can only get through
and out with each other's help.
And those idealists, hopemongers,
loudly proclaim a brave new day,
people needing people as rousing meme.
But that normality we anxiously carry
in our hearts as just return demands
dissembling, each a part apart.

Memories, stories about what happened
but no longer is --
what carries forward tells more
about you than then.
