April shouters

no wonder the Republicans need to limit voting
if they are to be able to win elections --
their default is not to create meaningful
legislation, but to keep their opponents
from doing so in order to make government
generally look ineffective

so the US is becoming a war of all against all
-- government against business, government
groups against each other, citizen groups against
business/government/other groups and so forth --
how is this mindset any good for any of us?
Why aren't we instead figuring out how to work
together and get done what we need done?

years back I read an article with a chart
 indicating four quadrants:
good for oneself and others
good for oneself, bad for others
bad for oneself, good for others
bad for oneself and others

the fourth quadrant was labeled by the
author "stupidity"

defund the police was not a mistake
to promote but rather a good place to
start discussing how we can have law
enforcement that works for our communities
as well as the other social programs we need f
or working with troubled people to help them
and their communities

the problem is not with this work, but with
the usual cynical politicos who rain down
lies/propaganda/divisive hate to obfuscate
so they can hold power

seems to me that diversity generally is of
great value to business -- yes, it is good for
public relations, but more so to expand
customer bases and find alternatives that
improve the processes and products

ultimately it's not about any ist or anti-ist --
it's about having respect for all living beings,
and understanding we are all family and do
best to treat each other well

Vicious solutions in search
of an acceptable problem
because the problem to be solved
is that ohmygod there are people
I don't understand, who aren't
like me.

It's not only, merely, defense
from embarrassment, from harsh
judgment, elitist laughter.
Rather, defense in nature's sense,
from ripping flesh, from predator's
teeth.

I have misunderstood the people
refusing to do the simple public
health measures to stem spread of
the virus.  I now realize they are trying
to save the planet, by diminishing
human impact.

The essence of art:
maybe by sharing my trying to find
myself, I can help others
find their selves.

we all know who gave us the virus --
the idiots running around refusing to accept
that we all have responsibility to protect ourselves
and others with simple public health measures

what we seem to ignore about the whole
"cancel culture" controversy is that it is a
loudly public controversy in which long
inheld grievances are bursting into full
interactive view

every time you folks put on this ridiculous theater
 – hearts and prayers, the gov’mint is trying to take
yer guns, the problem is mental illness
[but we’re not going to do anything about that
either – hell, those are our voters]
