it suddenly occurred to me
that all the "evils" we have come
to
associate with social media have
been
purposefully seeded to keep such
instant communication and sharing
of
experience from creating a social
atmosphere conducive to more
equality
systems promoting inequality
are not about economics, but
concentration of power
over
the issue really is that these
new
restrictions on voting are meant
to be
just that, so politicians can
choose
their voters and who they don't
want voting,
as if they own the
country.
Perhaps after these events
involving police v.
communities,
instead of the usual antagonistic
stance, police would stand,
humbly,
before the people they’re ranks
had
wronged, apologize
deeply,
honestly as fellow human
beings,
offer ongoing dialog to
together
make sure such tragedies
be
prevented.
Perhaps turn this meeting
into
a kind of wake in which
people
express feelings, share
relevant
stories, agree to respect and
form
intent to work not from
separate
camps, but together for
common
purpose.
Clearly, people who believe they
have
some strange right to treat
people
badly, for any trumped up
rationale,
are deeply anti-social and ought
not
be condoned by
anyone.
To bear arms -- other than limbs?
--
not "any" arms, but some
definition?
What could that be?
Words on a parchment mean
nothing
without
interpretation
to keep them relevant
over changing ages.
Is it a cognitive
disorder,
not sufficiently
perceiving
the group reality?
haiku gives true
voice
carries us to the
essence
of simplicity
