forward through shadow

enthralled by blood’s warm comfort.

 

 

 

 

It’s time to realize

how horrid people are

when so many of us are

dying of preventable despair.

 

 

 

 

Brilliant Black Women

might save us.

People who learned to survive

aware, strong, tough,

experience deeply, synthesize

overarched understanding,

core root cause, branching

feeding collective consciousness

limiting blinds, binds, silence --

wise women dispel, free our view.

 

 

Who do we trust when lies within falsehoods are

all demanding our minds?

Who cares to act kindly without

legitimizing fools, defying rules as

well-meaning guides, acting to further their

visions regardless of sides that seek to divide?

 

Not difficult, nor new, or even at odds

with best evidence; what impels us to focus

against what is so clearly sensible, sane?

 

 

 

All people suck

but at different amplitudes

at different times.
