mutating Earth

How do you choose to spend what time remains?

Whatever you have to say
in whatever ways you best self-express
How better spend what voice you have left?

What moves us
to act horribly?
A belief that we act honorably?
Or the power of that dopamine rush?

How long stand against
the spikes of glass, flames,
more imaginative tortures,
unwanted, with no power
to move, to scream.
Living on the edge, unseen,
seeing oncoming holocaust,
apocalypse – ignored, unheard.
“Listen!  It’s not inevitable.
There is so  much we can do!”
Unheard.

Adapt to current conditions --
this is destiny.

Inner I wanders
recent landscapes,
self-told reasons,
notices my walls and borders.
No blame, only wry advice:
Give up the stress of responsibility.
Ignore the borders.
Act from peace.

We hate
ourselves, and seed our hate
throughout our lives, our minds,
our families.
Punishment becomes the meaning
of being alive.
Who are we do so decide?

Humanity, how choose between
hot rage, cold loneliness,
kind curiosity, warm regard?
How can it be so hard to find
species sanity – choosing
striving toward thriving over
mass sacrifice to Lords of Destruction?

Nonbinary – refracted light
isn’t black & white
It’s a Rainbow
