a recipe for corruption

I am wondering if governing might 

be divorced from money -- they set 

parameters, outline and fill in policies, 

make and enforce rules, create the 

structures for others to bring the 

resources to

why are so many people glued 

to bad tv instead of enjoying actual lives?

Our Capitalism experiment has

failed.

Unfortunately, those who have

decided they are benefiting 

exceptionally, and therefore have

too much power, would rather

destroy our experiment with

Democracy.

If your plan demands the

destruction of the truly

humane, that's a good clue

that it is wrong, evil.

Perhaps a large amount of the

problem is the extraverts who

are so dependent on the approval

of those around them it has

become their one true value.

It's all rather apocalyptic --

people not believing in a livable

future squeezing, distracting

to get the most out of now.

The people with the character

to amass great fortune and

thereby affording undue public

influence are unlikely to be the

people we would want to be

influenced by.

As the world seems to be running out

 What do people want in a leader,

a political representative?

Who do people see in a positive

position to succeed?

How ought we best proceed to

discover the people best suited to

provide what we need?

If we concede the right of

politicians to decide our right

to a medical procedure based

not on biology or best practices,

but on political considerations,

we have conceded their right

to command or deny any medical

procedure based not on biology

or best practices, but on political

considerations, regardless of our

desire, need or choice.

I started reading very early and

voraciously.  I learned of other

cultures as I was figuring out

my own.  I am fascinated by

social histories, how people become.

Nattering news analysts insist

this is how we have decided

will be.  Yet, look back and see.

So often deluded by common bias

denying facts.  Perhaps forecast is

folly.  What we ought demand from

news reporting is what is actually

known to have happened, to be

happening.

All the hopeless suffering,

hellish lives,

and why?

To help provide profitable

influence 

above, outside

the need or desire

to care, to be aware

of others, of their pain.

Don't expect to convince me to

acquiesce to what you believe.

As the world seems to be running

out, this is not the time for me

to become compliant.

what can we afford?

 

Rather than appropriately deal

with the ravages our activities

have made, it seems the 

reaction is to escalate dangerous

hostilities -- go out in a species

suicidal blaze instead of 

hopelessly waiting for Earth

changes to destroy us.

I don't believe in the myth of

human races.

But, I see clear evidence of

racism.

I conclude:  Hate is not reality

based.

I get it.  The money you hoard

lets you stay safe from the dangers

of human relationships.

I keep seeing articles about 

employers not being able to find 

people with the skills they need. 

Every time I shout at them 

(though they can't hear me) 

TRAIN them -- they you will 

have loyal employees trained 

specifically to fulfill your needs.

It may be that we have to

expect and adapt to a future

devoid of reliable facts.

Islamophobia, AntiSemitism --

these are their own issues over

places and times.  This violence in

the Middle East is not religion-based

hatred.  It's about land, territory,

as war so often is.

It tears my heart out

people, people suffering, torn

to pieces, lost to life of more than

pain.  And why?  For the pleasure

of influential comfortable Men

of Reason who profitably command

what national values must be.

What a wonderful excuse for

refusing to do what needs doing --

we can't afford it!  What can we afford?

the changing demographics that 

make White Christians the minority

I see various complaints about

social media as detrimental to

mental health.  To me it seems

the most salient issue is not what

happens on social media, but the

opportunity costs of time and

attention more healthfully spent

irl.

Netanyahu, Putin, Trump, 

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei -- these

are autocrats, happy to sacrifice

The People any way to enhance

their own power.

Got migrants and their issues?

Grow Up!  That is the case in better

off nations -- those the migrants

aren't migrating from.

If we are truly living in a

simulation, this AI movement toward

alternative realities won't matter

when reality is so subject to

subjectivity, to our own

creativity.

I don't know how to do people.

In all this time of trying, to divine,

to find that key, to understand, that

has been beyond me.

I know so many times I was 

enough, my constrant friend.

Yet still I feel that demeaning demand

for companionship, mutuality of

compassion, true kinship of soul.

Why would such meeting so matter?

It's only life, after all.

I get it.  Your creed insists on us

each being our own responsibility.

No handouts -- work or starve.

Harsh.  A poor defining of kind,

spitting on the idea of empathy.

And so clearly you are aware of

your need to stave off guilt with

elevation of cruelty -- not only denying

aid or comfort, denying human dignity.

We complain that social media

has overwhelmed actual social

interplay.  We blame internet

addiction for mental distress,

epidemic loneliness.  If we were

getting the social benefits we need

in our real life relationships, we

would not have become so dependent

on the approbation of strangers.

Great achievement comes from

complicated people

Enjoy the good they provide

Condemn their dangerous side

Are "Right" and "Conservative"

now code for cruel?

Apparently, as certain people can

not handle alcohol, let it turn them

into assholes or worse, some people

can't handle power, become mad

and dangerous.

Such people do not need to be 

applauded, elevated for their

manipulative persona.  They need

to be compelled to treatment

for their disease.

who get everything done

in their families,

neighborhoods,

communities,

in the world,

get far too little respect

far too much obstruction

The pain, the fear

the agony, the smothering terror
