deserving to be redeemed

through good works, understanding

what harms we have allowed, demanded,

reveled I as if enmity were triumph.

for returning veterans of WWII created

the well-lauded wealth of the ‘50s and ‘60s.

 

 

 

We caustically complain:  These

problems, there is no way to solve them.

Be honest!

These problems can be solved – but it is

so much easier to complain than to do

what needs doing.

 

 

 

Much of what is ascribed to maliciousness

is, rather, incompetence.

Much incompetence is based in laziness.

 

 

 

We all have secret traumas, private pain.

What good does it do us to bully and blame?

Honest relating could help us all

find better lives.

 

 

Show respect for your fellow residents.

That’s the only way we get through it,

together.

 

 

If, after all you’ve been through,

you can still be delightful,

that’s special.
