of course that fact that Biden is severely restricted in what he can do about Israel due to the Republican Congress doesn't enter into vote choice calculations because Americans are too ignorant of how our government is set up to operate

I've been thinking for awhile that the capitalist sanctioned destruction of our planet is leading to mass psychosis thus that people can't feel that much matters anymore and just want to go out in a mindless frenzy of consumption and violence

Competition is the heart and soul

of a vibrant market, creating the

innovation capitalism is lauded for.

We are all, together, humankind --

each our own expression.

Elected leader can only be as good as

the majority of voters will allow.

I get it.  By the rules under which

you were raised, if you make it

financially you may do whatever 

you please.

So, of course, financial success 

out values anything else -- since

that is the only means to freedom

(if that is what you call it)

For those with no morals, happily

acting for self gain, the way can be

simple, straightforward (despite the lies)

For those acting from moral ideals, to

make better ways for the greater good,

those we would do better to believe

and join -- too often get overwhelmed

with every petty less than perfection.

People demand so much more from

the good than from those whose only

motive is their own power tocontrol

and pillage.

We grow absorbing expections of how

we proceed.

Who would we be if influenced

differently?

Yes, we get frustrated with government.

It seems to us that these people with

power should easily provide what we

demand.

Almighty POTUS should wave His

hand and make all right, all prosper,

all enemies put down.

But those are not the powers we bestow

to our POTUS, "balanced" by Congress's

arrogant privileges to restrain, loudly

complain, appropriate required funds

for their will to be done.

Now, understand,  power mad

tyrants ignore these laws, rules, procedures,

power shared restraint.

Such self-anointed gods do as they choose,

destroy those who oppose.

Yes! some may think:  someone who'll

get things done, show superior strength,

destroy any who don't fit our form of

order.

But do you bother to realize what your

role will be -- part of that miniscule elite?

No, fodder to defeat threats to our

honored Chief with your petty little lives.

Men raised to be soldiers, to kill and die.

Women to raise soldiers and their whores.

Children for our top down system to

exploit.  Until that lovely Nazi fantasy gets

less satisfying, so how about we blast it

all into oblivion, Armageddon, in Tribute

to our grand Omnipotent.

My answers are only for myself, and I am fairly powerless. What I can do is think, speak, interact, ask questions, look for better methods, look for the people "who are getting it done" and see if we can become a people instead of a bunch of mobs. What I don't have to do is depend on private groups with their own agenda to do my job as a citizen. We, if we are a democracy, are meant to do the work, do the educating, find and develop people with the skills and will to be real representatives with the interests of each and all of us in mind and heart.

Florida Man degradation -- but what is WRONG with

behavior is fine, desirable

But once those issues are clear,

condemnation becomes a distraction

from finding how to inculcate best

practices.

What is Conservative about understanding

the purpose of power to be telling others

what they may or may not do?  It does

seem more Progressive to understand the

purpose of power to be getting worthwhile

projects done.

if the citizens of a democracy were doing their due diligence within the firm understanding that they are their government, there would be no separate entity "government" to oppose.  There would be people working out what they need and how to make the world they want to live in.  There would be power hungry narcissists, but they would be easily shouted down by the people who understand the politics of power and the difference between power over others and power to achieve our common goals.  The education necessary for well-informed citizenry would be an underlying given, including frequent practice of problem-solving through democratic means.

the thing is, with politicians, there should never have been such an industry.  Democracy is not about top-down ambitious salesfolk raising exorbitant funds to tell us to put them in power.  We were meant to care enough about our self-governance to find the people who rise up as leaders, who know how to put into words what we want to say, and imbue them with our trust to, with others from other regions, do the daily due diligence of governance. 

somehow so many people seem to believe we need to say harsh words, act horribly to people with characteristics we or our social group has designated unhealthy or just "not normal" -- as if such antagonistic behavior will somehow make the situation better.  It does not.  In fact this bullying behavior is what makes life so much harder, even unbearable, for people who are already struggling, and people who would not be struggling if not for being made to believe they are "wrong"

Biden is not guilty of genocide.  Biden is guilty of living in a mindset developed in earlier days when supporting Israel was a matter of faith and responsibility.  In this situation he has been doing what he believes is his best to convince the true genocide perpetrator, Netanyahu, to stop this madness -- but Bibi won't, and a large contingent of Americans are avidly pro-Israel for a variety of reasons.  That large contingent is also included as  part of the US Congress, which actually has the authority to give the aid or refuse to give it.  They say they will impeach Biden for not following their mandate to support Israel by stalling or denying weapons.  It's more complicated than click bait.

it seems like somehow a great many of us have decided we are the arbiters of others' behaviors, lives.  And cruel arbiters, who must be harsh to make these others be as they demand.  This does not seem to me like a good way to live.  Better to let go of this nasty responsibility and be kind.

We let our chance for this election

season go by without finding a POTUS

candidate we can hopefully, optimistically,

feel good about raising up into that

leadership role.  Let's not waste more time.

Let's do the search with due diligence, find

those with appropriate credentials of will,

intelligence, experience, kind regard.

We claim we want to live as a democracy.

Let's do the job of an active electorate.

Violence propagates the use and acceptance of violence.  We can be better than that.  We can protest as we choose (it's a protest, not a thing we ask permission for), and show who we are without violence and with strong-willed determination, persistence, creativity, mutual education, self and mutual respect, what we want to mean by "love".

clearly it's the mainstream media that doesn't bother to acquire a clue

(or maybe they have gone so far over to A.I. that it's all algorithmic instead of reportage)

Democracy, government by the People, is only as good as the majority of participants

I'm all for political reform -- but not in the midst of a crucial nation-changing election when we need to be very clear about the outcome we can live with

if we get through this crisis as a democracy, it will be high time to get out there and make it better with political actors who are ready and able to work for the actual people

I pick my side -- the ones who don't like the fighting and want everyone to get together and party like it's post-Armageddon and we're all done with that crap.

the thing is, Joe Biden is a decent guy who believes in democracy.  That doesn't mean he doesn't get things wrong.  There are no perfect people.  And, he sees himself as the President for all the people, many of whom are pro-Israel.  It is not as simple as right and wrong.  We know what Netanyahu is doing is horribly wrong.  Many people in this world do horribly wrong to others.  People are made unnecessarily miserable all over.  There are actions we as people can take -- protests, aid, education of ourselves and others, creatively engaging in whatever ways we know how.  However, not voting for Biden in November against Trump would not end well for anyone.  Supporting Biden, now that we don't seem to have anyone else to run on the Democratic ticket, is the only sane option.

Do I have these translations correctly:

Left = take care of the people

Right = keep the rich getting richer

Capitalism does not require Democracy

Democracy does not require Capitalism

Democracy can accommodate any

economic system the People embrace.

Capitalists get along best with pro-profit

Authoritarians

I don't want to sell anything

I do promote ideas -- not for money

-- as it own goal.

There is no control

Because we are post-reality

Where nothing can possibly matter

So, we may as well relax,

wanting to be green

 

I want to be green,

but I'm blue.

(What might that mean to any you?)

I want to be Life nurturing,

a force for healing of this bitter world.

I want to grow organically, infuse

beautiful truths throughout our

human dreams.

What I want to be -- not who

I get to be.  Entangled beyond

my ability to cut through,

and be true to my higher desires,

relentlessly blue.

Those memories that made me --

But that world no longer exists

for so many years --

or did that world only exist for me,

what I experienced?

What must it be to have that

oppressive history

weighing, scathing

no matter who you may be, today.

I never had that connection --

weighted, scathed, merely for being

unexpected, unaccepted, except for

here and ther, momentarily.

An important advantage to living

within a society is the organization

that lets us have access to the 

institutions, facilities, outlets to what 

we (individually and socially) need.

Yet we see so many areas of lack --

food deserts, news deserts, people

without access to the nutrition,

information, education, medical care,

so much that we desperately need to

have a successful society or human world.

Perhaps our best defense is good,

critical thinking education --

but who is going to sit down for that?

Happy to be a useful part of

community, collaborative and respectful,

such a joyful place to live.

I use drugs to reduce the harm of my pain -- isn't that the point?

the system that we would best want to work for us is broken

by those who want a system that oppresses us for their benefit

the system needs to be fixed, not destroyed -- destruction will only leave us with destruction and a bunch of angry assholes ready to do their undermining thing all over again

if the people who are ready, willing and able go out and find the means to  fix the system, we are all able to have and do better.

Iif Israel wants to be an accepted nation it needs to play by the rules and defend itself responsibly, with minimal civilian murder.

aiding Ukraine is not costing us, since we are aiding them with weapons our people produce

aiding Ukraine might save us, if we successfully allow them to be successful in stopping Russian aggression through the world

we have it all wrong at the border -- we would do much better to fully fund immigration courts and quickly arrange for work permits and aid in getting immigrant workers hooked up with American businesses

we would do so very much better if the political/media complex would stop being a national sport and give citizens the truth and education to make good choices for our lives

when overly stressed I have learned to breathe deeply, slowly, to the rhythm of a mantra:  slow, gentle, calm -- repeat until I feel calmed

Remember:  The election is not just about

the President.  Be sure to vote the total

ballot.  So much of what we want done

depends on our legislators.

And, we need to answer those questions

give our views on Initiatives.

Know the issues

Do your basic civic duty

I require no special designation for

my political beliefs.  My philosophy

is simply:  human institutions need to

add to, and not subtract from, human

well-being.

That's not protest

That's not activism

That's just being

middle school mean

Since the 4/8 Eclipse, I've felt low

energy -- as if being asked to relax,

reflect, stop repetitive distracting

The body -- a conveyance

It's appearance is not my concern

They will do as they will do.

I have no control or influence.

I just do what I can to get by and 

avoid trampling by the mob as they

rush from and to enthusiasms.

At least, do no harm.

At the very least,

do no harm.

Far below a responsible response,

How communicate, carefully,

peacefully, in this chaos?

Words defined with but more words.

Where do we find that key experience,

how share?

Within boundaries

silently accepted.

You must understand that you live

in a world with vast other lives.

You have no natural right to say

who may live in this world along 

with you.  This is good.

You may be unwanted by others.

These people seem to insist on

destructive, irrational thought and

action -- not because they are unable

to think/act rationally, but because

they are unwilling.

Destructive explosions generate energy

but, What a mess!

So dangerous!

Safer, more blessed

energy generated by uniting.

How are the Trumpettes to take these

trials seriously when their guy is given

considerations well beyond those granted

normal defendants, as if it is understood

that he deserves better.

Violence, Addictions, Suicides

are these indications of a healthy society?

if we want these services we have to pay 

for them, at a wage that properly 

compensates the service providers so 

they have the democratic advantages of 

being able to vote with their wages for the 

goods and services they need for a good life

So sad!  So very many bullies --

enough to torture so many of us,

each for our own sin against their

acceptable definitions.
