the sadness of heroes

 
I am ignorant
Ignorant of how to bring listeners
for my urgent pleas
to be heard.
This insanity we self-name humanity,
separating origin stories that haunt
childhood dreams, that assume
superiority, license to destiny,
to make of Eden our living Hell.
Too ridiculous, horrific, to let
such reality be believed.
Yet, my message seeks not blame,
but restoration, the beauty, the
path we might have taken,
still could, if we would but allow
that consciousness.
The pressure to desist from expressing
these grievous disappointments,
dripping pain layered through my
experience, becomes too intense.
I can learn to quietly inside and out
fall away from the fray.
Why subject myself to such devaluation?


Our lives are subject to the whims
of the powerful.
The question presents: can we become
our own authors, our own heroes,
subjects of our own world?


Yes, they can meet to represent you.
But that presupposes you are doing
your part in the work of self-rule.


Impeach Trump
Become a people
Save the world


The future appears unlivable,
because people
Lazy, weak, unwilling to be aware
In truth, it is unfair to ask for more.
Our nature no longer guides who
we are -- pushed and pulled into
directionless motivations.
Shining promises, fairy dust.
Still, a brightness so alluring.
Of course we can't be trusted based
on loyalties,
Invectives, imperfections, all must
be expected to impure possibilities,
built bit by leap, at such a cost.
Better to complain of what we've
lost, assign blame with disdainful
frost than shamefully admit that
the cost was too high, the recompense
too low. Easier to go with some common
flow, not of our Creation.


It's a different world
Not the one I signed up for,
or was educated to expect


The fierce, fragile urgency
of this moment


Bit by bit
dripping into
a tipping point


Some amalgamation of
heredity and society
and this self we're told
lives in a reflective world
of free will.


People who become important,
idolic roles portrayed upon
a world stage
What do we, mere mortal audience,
take from who they truly are,
snip and sort to fit reward categories?


Going along half-heartedly, as too
many have become accustomed

I'm just trying to get Americans
to take back our democray,
something I clearly cannot do
on my own, or we wouldn't be
in this mess.


political parties are private organizations 
with their own agenda
put one together with people of like mind, 
but who will join?
better to take back our democracy which 
too many have abdicated for too long

I have never considered myself my body -- 
it is a conveyance, sensory inputs
I am this endless voice, this true friend and 
companion through my adventures and despairs
I do not judge others' bodies as themselves
We are physical/biological, but that is 
not who or what we are


a nurse, a person of great value to 
the greater community, viciously put down 
by a complete loser with no socially redeeming 
value -- how much sadder can we get?


what is this "resisting arrest" crime
resisting arrest for what?  wouldn't that be 
the arrestable crime?  resisting arrest for no 
crime committed seems just sensible



I find it so ironic that the Christian Nationalists 
hate Jews, since they worship the same Old 
Testament angry, jealous, warlike God against 
the teachings of Jesus



I would like to talk a bit about being moderate
Not good; but not actually bad
We know it could be so much worse,
and far too often is
Of course we don't like it
But we don't have to hate it
Rather work with it as far as we can 


what we need are people (more than a few) 
willing and active to do what will make a real 
difference, to take back our democracy after 
these decades of abdication
I mean, contact your reps and demand Trump's 
impeachment is so easy, why the resistance?




I am offering a simple, easy action that,
if enough people took part, could succeed
But then, the reason we are in this mess
is that enough people couldn't be
bothered with democracy


why do we even want or need these files -- we already 
know the gist 
every time what he has done is worse than expected, 
yet his base loves him more, for legitimizing their meanness
what we really want is him gone, so go for that directly


we tend to get what we demand
not what we're owed



 if you have an action easier, simpler, safer, 
bringing people together as a force to be reckoned 
with, at a special time when midterms are on the minds 
of the reps up for re-election (all of the House of 
Representatives and a large group of Senators), while 
the world is up in arms against Trump in so many ways, 
for so many reasons, 
when the economy is getting ever worse ...
than do that too



there is a greater than zero chance right now 
because midterms for all House members and 
some Senators, who will be concerned about 
primaries, while the sentiment against the Trump 
regime is growing more strongly negative — some 
GOP Congress people are starting to speak out 
against specific issues — all over the world
and  a movement of concerned citizens like this 
can grow as a force going forward
far from wasting any time, this can be done quickly, 
easily, with little energy expended, while those 
concerned also do whatever else seems useful



this is a very special time when midterms will 
change the Congress, and primaries can scare 
those who want to stay in office
while
there is unprecedented rage against the 
administration, growing throughout the world
thus, for this limited NOW this is a tactic 
that could work
also, getting this vast network of people to cry 
out as one for this so necessary impeachment 
helps to create that force going forward
