whistling for warmth

A time heavy with pressure, cold in disassociation,
sad, so sad

Prohibitions lead to war
Harm reduction based regulations
lead to conversation

(though, of course, we can lead a mind to
conversation; but we can not make it speak)

Sometimes power comes from wealth
Sometimes from position
Sometimes from a badge
or the barrel of a gun
Mostly power is an agreement,
an acceptance of

That on-edge dread
some presences inspire

permanent, emerging, and worsening
infirmities

is anybody really listening?
does anybody really care?
everybody out there whistling
filling the air
